Bishop Chester Hudson

THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF BISHOP CHESTER HUDSON

pic4I was baptized and received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit on the 25th of March 1977. This took place at Bethlehem Healing Temple at 12 South Oakley in Chicago. The Late Bishop Charles E. Poole was Pastor during this time. Having been a member of Chicago’s Progressive Church of Christ, I brought with me a wealth of Christian experience to Bethlehem Healing Temple. At Progressive Church of Christ I served as the Sunday School Assistant Superintendent, Youth Chairperson, Choir Director and member of the Board of Deacons.

At Bethlehem Healing Temple I was immediately put to work as a Sunday School Teacher. God called me into the Ministry in 1979. I was summoned many times to represent Bishop Poole at various civic and government affairs. Upon the death of Bishop Poole, I served as an Associate Minister under the new Pastor Bishop Arcenia C. Richards. I, along with others, coordinated the annual appreciation services for Bishop Richards to which thousands attend and renowned guest speakers throughout the United States delivered words of exhortation and encouragement.

I was ordained an Elder in the Apostolistic Church in July 1984, and served in that capacity until 1999 wherein I was ordained District Elder. I ascended to the Office of Bishop in July 2002 under the tutelage and guidance of Bishop Clord Jordan, Presiding Bishop of the Living Witness of the Apostolic Faith. I have preached and taught extensively under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and continue to serve in the Master’s service. I have taken numerous Religious classes to enhance and further my ministry and continue to be a Servant of Him who called me.

On April 11, 1962 I married Florence Whittaker. We have a son, daughter, and four grandchildren. Our children and grandchildren are the jewels of our life. Sharon is the mother of Valencia and Lawrence, and Patrick and his wife Cynthia are the parents of Brady and Tyler. I spent 5 years and 4 months in the US Navy and received an honorable discharge, leading to my 25 years of service with Western Union Corporation as a District Manager. In 1992 I changed careers and became a Regional Manager with First Data Corporation out of Denver, Colorado, after a merger and acquisition I became an Account Executive with Sprint Telecommunication Company from which I retired in May 2005.

We are continuing a work that is sanctioned by God and by his grace we will not stop until are mission is accomplished! God has given me a vision for our church that it will be a house of prayer, praise and power for His name sake.
